Collaborating with others who are also interested in economic relations rather than military or colonial relations could create a trend that could elevate Afrika into the next massive growth zone of the globe. Sending donations for babies living in straw huts for the last 60 years is not the approach that will work. Building roads, rail lines, ports, airports, etc. is probably a better approach towards economic independence.

You are so right about economic relations elevating Africa. That is why it frustrates me so much when countries in the Sahel prioritize relationships with Russia on the basis of military support, that only gets you so far..

It's interesting you mention donations, I'm currently reading a book (Poor Economics) by several economists and there is a chapter that argues that aid does more harm than good.

"Aid prevents people from searching for their own solutions, while corrupting and undermining local institutions and creating a self-perpetuating lobby of aid agencies" the book says

I wholeheartedly agree.
